Feel it all at an Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk
Join us at Abbey Park in 2025 and share an incredible day with others who understand how it feels to be affected by dementia.

Share advice, laughter, and support at the Leicester Memory Walk. And when you cross the finish line, celebrate with your medal, knowing you have walked for a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.

Meeting point
Leicester Memory Walk will start and finish in the event site at the bandstand, which is located at the park entrance nearest to Abbey Park Road, LE4 5AQ. Please note, this area is on grass.
Travel information
There is no dedicated event parking available, please use city centre parking and local public transport. Abbey Park bandstand is 2km from Leicester train station.
Please note, Abbey Park Road will be closed to all through traffic and parking will be suspended due to works on Abbey Corner bridge. Dogs must be kept on short leads throughout the event.
Route
There are two routes to choose from on the day of Memory Walk.
A shorter 2.5km route, which is a gentle stroll around Abbey Park and wheelchair accessible.
The longer 6.5km route will take you around Abbey Park before walking along the banks of the River Soar and past the National Space Centre, and is more challenging with a combination of woodland and paved paths.
Please note the route and distance is subject to change, and suitable footwear is recommended.

Accessibility
The meeting point is on grass. The short route is on paved paths and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs with assistance. There is no event parking available at this event.
