Here you'll find resources available to you as a volunteer to support your social wellbeing.
This is an e-newsletter sent by email to all volunteers on the second Wednesday of every month. It contains key updates, new of opportunities and links to events such as the Monday Society Briefing.
If you don’t have access to email or prefer to use another method of communication, please chat to your volunteer manager about other ways to hear about what’s happening at the Society.
This briefing is delivered, via Zoom, every Monday morning by our CEO, Kate Lee, other members of the Senior or Executive Leadership teams or other staff from across the Society. It keeps staff and volunteers up to date with the latest news and updates and is a great way to stay informed and connected to what’s happening.
The link to access the Briefing is contained in the Volunteer Bulletin (see above) or can be obtained from your volunteer manager.
Every other month, staff and volunteers are invited to tune into the Research Update webinar. Featuring breaking news from the world of dementia research and guest speakers including Society funded researchers, there’s also dedicated time to answer your questions.
Details on how to join are put in the Volunteer Bulletin (see above) or speak with your volunteer manager.
Regular Society-wide Ask us Anything sessions are run, virtually, with members of our Senior and Executive Leadership teams. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend to raise high level questions on any topic about which you’d like to hear more or get an answer.

Your volunteer manager will be able to tell you about any local events that are being arranged in your area for volunteers. These might be face to face or virtual and are a great opportunity to meet other volunteers from across the Society, to hear latest news, share ideas, give feedback and generally feel more connected.
Depending upon your volunteering role, there might be opportunities for you to attend local meetings arranged by the team you’re in. Your volunteer manager will be able to tell you more.
At the Society we have a number of Lived Experience Networks. Each network comprises a group of people, with a shared heritage, experience or characteristic, who come together to support each other and our organisation. They're a brilliant way to help the Society become more inclusive and our people feel safe, valued, and able to add value.
Our internal Menopause Matters Network is open to all volunteers. It is set up primarily as a peer support group for people across the Society experiencing perimenopause or menopause symptoms. Dedicated to normalising the conversation around menopause in the workplace, the Network organise activities, e-learning and all people sessions to promote awareness of common symptoms and understanding of how we can support each other.
If you would like to join the Menopause Matters network, email [email protected].
