Volunteer wellbeing

We appreciate all that you do for people affected by dementia, and we want to help you when you need it most. On this page, you will find information about our wellbeing support offer for our volunteers.

Here at Alzheimer’s Society, we define wellbeing as a combination of a person's physical, mental, emotional, social and financial health. It’s strongly linked to life satisfaction, a sense of meaning or purpose and self-care; all of which can build resilience to help navigate life events.

We recognise there may be times when your sense of wellbeing is not where you would like it to be. This may be because you’ve found some aspect of your volunteering challenging or distressing or it might be for some other reason unrelated to the time you give to supporting people living with dementia. Whatever the reason, we are committed to your wellbeing and have a range of resources available for you to use if you need or feel you would benefit from some extra support.
