Moordown Plus Day Centre

This service specialises in supporting and enabling people living with dementia. Staff provide a balance between giving clients support and the encouragement and reassurance they need to enable them to make the most of their skills, abilities and independence. The building has level access throughout with orientation aids and dementia friendly themed spacious rooms. There are several themed lounges and a dining room, a fully functional activity kitchen, activity rooms and a quiet room with mood lighting for relaxation. The service offers meaningful and stimulating activities such as: arts and crafts; cookery; singing; dancing; chair exercises; reminiscing; orientation sessions; DIY and gardening. The centre holds seasonal events. The centre supports with personal care and eating and drinking; showering services; specialist changing rooms/hoisting facilities and footcare services.
