The challenge

Trek for loved ones and bring help and hope to everyone living with dementia. Explore historic landscape dominated by the world-famous stone circle of Stonehenge.

It was a fantastic experience from start to finish, I loved every moment of it. All of the volunteers were full of energy and support, which was exactly what I needed in the final miles! ... Will definitely be back next time.

The route

Starting Location: Salisbury

The 26 mile route starts north of Salisbury and goes through the market town, past the magnificent 13th century cathedral which has the tallest spire in the UK. The route continues through woodlands, alongside the racecourse with a gentle ascent to give picturesque views across the city. Continuing to walk across farmland and gentle slope down takes you to a small village.

The 13 mile route goes through a quiet woodland area where you will enjoy the views of the world famous Stonehenge. Walking along the chalk ridges through the valley and rural farmland paths before the final sections which pass Old Sarum a historical landmark.

The 26 mile route will start and finish at Hudson's Field, Salisbury (next to Salisbury Rugby Club, SP1 3SA). The 13 mile route starts at South Newton & Great Wishford Village Hall, Warminster Road, SP2 0PJ and ends at Hudson's Field.

You can still do something incredible and make a difference to people affected by dementia.

We will be looking for enthusiastic volunteers to cheer our trekkers over the finish line. We'll kit you out with an Alzheimer's Society t-shirt and provide you with everything you need to give our trekkers an amazing event day experience.

You'll help to set them on their way to raising even more money to change the lives of people affected by dementia. And we can guarantee you'll have a great time!
