The challenge

Share advice, laughter, and support at the Portsmouth Memory Walk. And when you cross the finish line, celebrate with your medal, knowing you have walked for a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. 

The meeting point and route

Portsmouth Memory Walk will start and finish in the event site at Canoe Lake. Please note, this area is on grass. Find us using the postcode PO4 9RG, alternatively enter truck.spider.leader into the What3Words App.

To make sure everyone's included, there are two routes to choose from on the day of Memory Walk.

The shorter 1.5km route, which will take you along Portsmouth Sea Front and is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all ages and abilities.

The longer 6km route takes in the sights of Portsmouth Esplanade and is more challenging with a combination of beach and paved paths.

Travel information

Please consider the most sustainable method of transport, or car share where possible.

There is no dedicated event parking for this event. The designated car park for the park has limited spaces. The postcode for Seafront Canoe Lake Car Park is PO4 9RU.

Fratton railway station is 1.4 miles away from the event site. 

You can then get the number 1 bus from Talbot Road to South Parade Pier (Stop E). This bus runs every 12 minutes. It is a short walk from South Parade Pier (Stop E) to the event site. 

Canoe Lake can be reach by bus on services: 1, 3 and 23. These have stops within a short walk of Canoe Lake Park.  For more information please check out https://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/public-transport-information/bus

The meeting point is on grass. The short route is on paved paths and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs with assistance. There is no event parking available at this event.
