Can anyone offer some advice please. My dad has mixed dementia and when needing a poo will not sit on the loo and will instead pick it out of him with his fingers. We have tried to encourage him to sit on the loo seat and not use his hands but cannot understand why he has too. It’s almost as if to him using his hands is a natural thing to do. Has anyone else experienced this and found ways of dealing with this.
