The singing group offers a way for people to keep connected with each other. Listening to music and the act of singing has benefits for brain function and promotes feelings of well being and confidence. Even if we have problems with day to day memory, we can often remember the words to songs long after we have forgotten other things. Songs evoke memories; we all have songs that remind us of experiences we have had in the past. Singing is a wonderful way to combine memory skills, breathing control, exercise have fun and meet new friends. You don't have to be a good singer to enjoy the benefits of singing in a group!
