Join our cheer team and you’ll help support our incredible runners and cyclists, raising money so we can be there for everyone affected by dementia.
As an Alzheimer’s Society cheerer, it’s your job to make as much noise as you can when our incredible runners and cyclists pass our support stations. You really can make all the difference when it comes to helping our team to reach the finish line! Take a look at our role descriptions for more information.

Volunteering at Memory Walk is an incredible experience. You and hundreds of others across the country will help us to run 13 inspiring walks that raise vital funds, providing help and hope to people affected by dementia. Memory Walk simply couldn't happen without the incredible support of our volunteers.
There are three roles to choose from when volunteering at a Memory Walk:
- Event Site - Volunteer roles include selling merchandise and handing out medals at the finish line.
- Route Marshal - Route volunteers are essential to guide walkers and keep enthusiasm high. All route marshals will be paired, so you'll never be alone on the route.
- Back Markers - Back markers have the unique advantage of walking the whole route alongside our participants, taking down route signage and releasing route marshals along the way.

This could be a cup of tea at one of our rest stops, a friendly word of encouragement on the route, or a triumphant cheer across the finish line. We can guarantee that it means the world to our trekkers.
There are 3 types volunteer roles at a Trek26:
