What is Trek26?
Trek26 is a series of treks in stunning locations across England and Wales. Trekkers have the option to trek either 26 or 13 miles. Thousands of people take on the challenge each year to raise money in support of people with dementia.
Why we need you!
Trekking a marathon or half-marathon is no mean feat so we love to give our trekkers as much support as possible on the day. This could be a cup of tea at one of our rest stops, a friendly word of encouragement on the route, or a triumphant cheer across the finish line. We can guarantee that it means the world to our trekkers.
This role will be perfect for you if you are:
• Friendly, welcoming and enjoy being part of a large event.
• Flexible and willing to take on a variety of different tasks as needed.
• A good communicator and are comfortable talking to people from all walks of life.
The route
You'll support trekkers as they walk along the South West Coastal Path.
We will have three rest stops on the route, with lunch being served at the second rest stop.
All trekkers will cross the finish line at the event hub at Steam Fields just outside Brixham.

As a rest stop volunteer you will be:
- Cheering trekkers into their rest stop
- Chatting to trekkers and checking on their wellbeing
- Making hot drinks/fill water bottles
- Encourage trekkers to take snacks
- Explaining the next section of the route and offering encouragement
*Most of our rest stops are in rural locations so we ask that rest stop volunteers have a car.
