What is Trek26?
Trek26 is a series of treks in stunning locations across England and Wales. Trekkers have the option to trek either 26 or 13 miles. Thousands of people take on the challenge each year to raise money in support of people with dementia.
Why we need you!
Trekking a marathon or half-marathon is no mean feat so we love to give our trekkers as much support as possible on the day. This could be a cup of tea at one of our rest stops, a friendly word of encouragement on the route, or a triumphant cheer across the finish line. We can guarantee that it means the world to our trekkers.
This role will be perfect for you if you are:
• Friendly, welcoming and enjoy being part of a large event.
• Flexible and willing to take on a variety of different tasks as needed.
• A good communicator and are comfortable talking to people from all walks of life.
The route
Starting Location: Glanusk Estate, Crickhowell, NP8 1LP
Both routes begin in the privately owned Glanusk Estate, with a gentle start meandering along the River Usk and near the 12th century ruin of Ailsby Castle. An undulating section follows with an iconic climb up Table Mountain, a 380 metre peak with far-reaching views across the valleys.
The route then joins the Beacons Way with stunning Welsh scenery in a less-visited part of the National Park. Crossing the Llangynidr Bridge will be a step back in time with spaces on the bridge for foot traffic to allow the passage of horse and cart.
The finish awaits along a short section of the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal before a slight downhill back through the Glanusk Estate.
*Please note the route is subject to change.
