The challenge

Share advice, laughter, and support at the South Shields Memory Walk. And when you cross the finish line, celebrate with your medal, knowing you have walked for a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.

The meeting point and route

South Shields Memory Walk will start and finish in the event site at Bents Exhibition Park, which is located off Sea Road right by the beach. Find us using postcode NE33 2LD, alternatively enter ///rams.heats.submit into the What3Words App. Please note, this area is on grass.

To make sure everyone's included, there are two routes to choose from on the day of Memory Walk.

A shorter 1.5km route, which is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all ages and abilities.

The longer 7km route has amazing views of the North East coastline, and is more challenging with some muddy patches so don’t forget your wellies and walking boots! This route is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs due to the nature of the pathways.

Please note the route and distance is subject to change, and suitable footwear is recommended.
