The Scout Association: A Million Hands dementia resource pack
Use our A Million Hands resource pack to take action on dementia with your Scout group.
Alzheimer’s Society is proud to be a part of The Scout Association’s A Million Hands programme which encourages Scouts to take social action in their communities.
What is A Million Hands?
A Million Hands gives Scouts the opportunity to choose an issue that they are passionate about to take action on it. Working towards their Community Impact badge, Scouts will learn more about dementia, and help people affected by dementia in their community.
Watch our video with Bear Grylls to learn more about the different actions Scouts can take on dementia.
How do I get involved?
Request a Dementia Friends Information Session to raise awareness of dementia as part of A Million Hands.
Dementia Friends Information Sessions are one hour, awareness-raising sessions about what it is like to live with dementia and how we can all contribute to make our communities more dementia-friendly. They are run by Dementia Friends Champion volunteers and are suitable for anyone aged 5 and over.
