Information and Information Providers

This application and the webpage (the “Dementia Directory”) contains information about services (“Information”) provided to Alzheimer’s Society by other organisations (“Information Providers”) for the benefit of people with dementia, carers, health and social care professionals and others with an interest in dementia. 

The Information should not be regarded as medical advice or professional advice and the Alzheimer’s Society recommends that you contact the relevant Information Provider to confirm details of services you would like to attend or use.

We collect some information for the Dementia Directory from public sources like the Care Quality Commission’s care directory and the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority’s register which can include names of individuals registered as providers.

Alzheimer's Society does not endorse and accepts no liability whatsoever caused or contributed to by Information Providers, the Information, or the services to which the Information relates.  

Alzheimer’s Society cannot guarantee that the Information is correct or up to date, is not responsible for errors or omissions in the Information submitted or any actions resulting from the use of such information, and makes no warranty of any kind, either express or implied, in relation to the Information.

The Dementia Directory is not to be used to find participants for research studies. If you are interested in finding research participants, you may like to apply to list your study on the Join Dementia Research website.

Third party websites and applications 

The Dementia Directory may contain links to third party websites which are identifiable because clicking on them will display a third party's website URL (“Third Party Links”). 

Such Third Party Links are provided for your convenience only. We do not guarantee that Third Party Links will work all of the time, and you agree that:

1. We have no control over and no liability for the availability or content of the linked pages;
2. We do not endorse the material included on any linked pages; and
3. We do not endorse the operators of the Third Party Links. 

No guarantees that this application is error-free

Alzheimer's Society does not warrant that:

1. Access and use of the Dementia Directory (or the material contained therein) will be uninterrupted or error-free; 
2. Defects in the Dementia Directory (or the material contained therein) will be corrected; or 
3. The Dementia Directory or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or bugs, or represent the full functionality, accuracy and reliability of the materials. 

Additionally, Alzheimer’s Society does not warrant that any third-party website which hosts the Dementia Directory will be free of viruses or bugs, or be otherwise uncompromised.

Use of Alzheimer’s Society IP

Using any of Alzheimer's Society's registered logos, graphics or photographs without the Society's prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

Google Analytics and Google Maps

You acknowledge that Alzheimer's Society uses "Google Analytics" to collect information about use of The Dementia Directory. 

The Dementia Directory uses Google Maps, which has the following Terms of Service. By using the Dementia Directory, you agree to be bound by those terms of service. The Google terms of service may be amended from time to time and it will be your responsibility to check you are complying with the most recent terms of service.

Acceptance and termination

Your use of the Dementia Directory constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. If these terms and conditions are not accepted in full, the use of the Dementia Directory must be terminated immediately.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. By using the Dementia Directory, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales in relation to any dispute that may arise in connection with these terms or your use of the Dementia Directory or its content.
