Insurance United Against Dementia

One industry with one goal

Insurance United Against Dementia is an industry movement created and championed by leaders across insurance, in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society. Together, we will raise £10 million to help end the devastation caused by dementia.

Why is IUAD so important?

There are currently 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK. With no cure and limited treatments, one in three people will develop the condition in their lifetime.

This disease has a devastating personal impact, but also far-reaching consequences for society as a whole – it currently costs the UK economy over £42 billion every single year.

What has IUAD achieved?

So far, IUAD has raised over £9.6 million to help fund Alzheimer’s Society’s support services and research programme, providing help for today and hope for tomorrow, and we are now within touching distance of our initial £10 million goal.

IUAD is also committed to driving awareness across the industry of the support available to staff and customers affected by the disease.

How can I get involved with IUAD?

Fundraise for us

You can sign up to Insurance Day for Dementia. This is our flagship event which brings together the industry to fundraise and raise awareness of dementia.

You can also play your part by taking part in one of our other fundraising events, such as a run or a trek.

We have a series of physical challenges that you can take part in individually or as a team or you can always organise your own. We’d love to help you!

IUAD want to raise £10 million to fund vital support services that provide help for people living with dementia today and crucial research that gives hope for tomorrow.

We are hugely grateful to all our supporters past and present for helping raise £8million to date. Your support has had an incredible impact on people affected by dementia.

From funding vital Dementia Advisers who make sure no one has to face dementia alone, supporting grants for future dementia research leaders through Early Career Researchers, and with funds directed to the UK Dementia Research Institute and the pioneering work which will change the dementia landscape forever.
