Help us raise awareness of dementia
Keep dementia on the agenda by raising awareness in your community.
Find volunteering opportunities in your area
As a volunteer raising awareness, you’ll help make sure the real needs and concerns of people with dementia and their carers are addressed.
Dementia is Britain’s biggest killer. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. This is why we need your help creating a society that’s both dementia aware and dementia friendly.
Find out what’s available in your area and join the fight against dementia.
Whether you can give an hour, a day or more, there are lots of ways you can raise awareness of dementia with Alzheimer’s Society.
The best way to find out what your volunteering could involve is to see what roles are listed in your local area.
Activities you may be involved with include;
- Distribution of leaflets, booklets and posters
- Attending local groups, gatherings and community events
- Public speaking and presentations
No experience is required, but training is available for those interested in taking on a public speaking role.
If you would like to know more about this or other volunteer roles, please contact the Volunteering Support Team on 0300 222 5706, or email the volunteering team.
